Women’s match against Western Sydney rescheduled

The Wellington Phoenix women will play two matches in four days to close their maiden Liberty A-League season.

The Phoenix’s penultimate round match against Western Sydney Wanderers has been rescheduled for tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 1), after persistent rain in Sydney made CommBank Stadium unplayable on Sunday afternoon.

The ground has since recovered and the game will now kick-off two days later at 6:35pm AEDT (8:35pm NZT).

The Phoenix will then return to their home away from home, WIN Stadium in Wollongong, to round out their inaugural season against Perth Glory on Friday evening.

That match will kick-off at 5:05pm AEDT (7:05pm NZT) with tickets available here.

Both women’s games will be broadcast free-to-air in New Zealand on Prime Television as well as LIVE on Sky Sport.

Unlike the Phoenix women, the men’s postponed match against Western Sydney will not be rescheduled for this week and will instead be played later in the season, in April or potentially May.

They will return to action on Sunday afternoon against reigning A-League champions Melbourne City at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney.

The match will kick-off at 4:05pm AEDT (6:05pm NZT).
