ROLE: Commercial partnerships manager
The Partnerships Manager is a newly established position within the Commercial department at Wellington Phoenix. The role supports the Head of Commercial in achieving commercial objectives and meeting overall KPIs set by the Wellington Phoenix executive board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Partner Management: This role is responsible for implementing, developing, and managing the Wellington Phoenix A-Leagues commercial partner delivery program.
- Leveraging & Activation: Manage a portfolio of top-tier partners (Principal/Premium), planning and delivering their assets in alignment with bespoke partnership objectives.
- Coordination: Act as a conduit between the Commercial and Marketing teams, ensuring seamless alignment and fulfilment of partner assets on both matchdays and non-matchdays.
- Partnership Development & Delivery: Contribute to the development of a world-class commercial department by implementing innovative strategies to enhance partner relationships and unlock new future revenue for the Club.
ABOUT YOU:
This exciting role requires a proactive account manager capable of managing multiple projects across partnership management, partner marketing campaigns & partnership event delivery.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills as well as a minimum of four years’ experience working within account management or partnership management.
- Experience working within a creative agency, brand, marketing, or rights holder environment.
- Ability to create mutually beneficial partnerships through innovative ideas and activations.
- Emotional maturity and ability to think outside the box to identify opportunities.
- Excellent organisation skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Analytical, commercial and detail orientated with experience managing budgets.
- Passionate about the sports industry and an understanding of sports marketing trends.
The role requires attendance at all Phoenix A-League Men (ALM) and A-League Women (ALW) games at Sky Stadium in Wellington and at other venues around New Zealand as needed.

ROLE: A-LEAGUE WOMEN HEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Purpose: The ALW Head Physiotherapist plays a pivotal role, alongside the A-League Rehab Physiotherapist, in optimising the physical health and well-bring of female football players within the Wellington Phoenix A-League Women’s programme. This position demands a profound understanding of physiotherapy principles tailored to football-specific requirements, couples with the ability to create and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs aligned with the high-performance needs of professional footballers. As an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team, the ALW Head Physiotherapist will assume a leadership role in overseeing and executing the club’s physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs for female players.
The successful candidate will contribute to the Wellington Phoenix Board’s long-term vision of building a financially self-sustaining club that upholds the highest standards of football excellence on the field and maintains optimal corporate governance off the field.
In line with the club’s mission, the ALW Head Physiotherapist will actively contribute to fostering a football culture where talent is developed and nurtured within a framework of excellence. On the field, the objective is to implement physiotherapy strategies that support a possession-based playing style – one that is competitive, high-performing, and highlights the best of the talent within the club.
