The Wellington Phoenix have five players heading to Panama with the Football Ferns.
Mackenzie Barry (25 caps), Vic Esson (34 caps) and Grace Jale (41 caps), as well as new signings Indiah-Paige Riley (37 caps) and Milly Clegg (25 caps), have all been named in head coach Michael Mayne’s squad to take on Panama twice this October.
The two matches will be the first time Panama and New Zealand have ever played each other in senior women’s football.
The Ferns will also get the chance to experience playing in Latin America ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, which will be hosted by Brazil.
Kick off for the first game is at 10am NZT on Sunday, October 11, with the second starting at 1.30pm NZT on Wednesday, October 14.
Both fixtures will be played at the Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez in Panama City.
The Phoenix players selected for international duty will rejoin the squad in time for the A-League Women season opener against Melbourne City on Sunday, October 18.
