Wellington Phoenix and Revera Bring Back Legends

On Saturday 7 March at Brendan Foot Supersite Hutt Rec some well-known former Wellington Phoenix players will pull on the jersey again thanks to long-time supporter and inaugural season club partner Revera.

The Wellington Phoenix Legends match will be played as a curtain raiser to the Phoenix v Adelaide United Hyundai A-League match.

Phoenix stalwart Mark Paston, now a Product Analyst with Revera, will captain and recruit former Phoenix players from around the world to play in the one off match.  The team will be coached by current Wellington Phoenix captain Andrew Durante.

Wellington Phoenix Legends coach Andrew Durante said he was excited to be involved in what promises to be a memorable occasion.

“It’s great to have some of my former Phoenix team mates back and to see them playing the jersey once again.”

The match is being played in support of local football player and father of two, William Bridge, as he battles an aggressive form of stomach cancer.

The first recruit and the scorer of the Wellington Phoenix’s first goal, Daniel Cortes has already committed to the match.

Over the next two weeks player announcements will be made as Paston selects his team. Remaining spots will be filled with competition winners or be auctioned off for charity.

Further announcements on players will be made in the coming days on www.prod.wellingtonphoenix.aleagues.com.au.
