Wellington Phoenix chief executive Nathan Greenham today announced that the club’s principal sponsor Sony has renewed its partnership for a further year.

For the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season, Sony will again feature on the front of the Phoenix-s stunning new adidas home and alternate playing strips.
Sony New Zealand Managing Director Martin McManus said that Sony was excited to be back with the Phoenix.

“Sony-s make.believe brand is all about action, spirit, imagination, design and dreams.

In the Phoenix-s comparatively short history the club has demonstrated that these qualities are also part of what the Phoenix is all about.

That-s what makes this ongoing partnership a perfect fit for Sony and the Phoenix.”

Sony has been principle sponsor of the Wellington Phoenix since the clubs very first season in 2007. During this time the relationship has encapsulated the visit of David Beckham and the LA Galaxy, sell out crowds at Westpac Stadium, successive finals appearances and being at the forefront of the re-birth of football in New Zealand.

McManus said the Phoenix relationship was a crucial part of the company-s commitment to supporting its brand values in New Zealand through sport.

“We-ve thoroughly enjoyed an exciting and beneficial relationship with the Phoenix since coming onboard as principal partner in their inaugural season in 2007.

“For Sony New Zealand, sponsoring the Wellington Phoenix is about supporting football in New Zealand and ensuring Sony and the club continues to lead the way.
