Semi-final set to sell out!

The Wellington Phoenix are urging Wellingtonians to buy their tickets now to ensure they don’t miss out on the biggest game in the club’s history.

Sky Stadium is on track to sell out for the second leg of the Isuzu UTE A-League semi-final against Melbourne Victory on Saturday night, with fewer than seven thousand tickets remaining.

More than two and a half thousand were sold on Monday and another 500 tickets were snapped up this morning.

“It’s looking increasingly likely we will have to put the full house sign up at Sky Stadium for the first time in our history,” Phoenix general manager David Dome said.

“Ticket sales were progressing steadily for the first 10 days and have exploded since the first leg in Melbourne.

“Our message to fans is get your tickets now because you don’t want to miss out on what promises to be a truly unforgettable night.”

Head coach Giancarlo Italiano believes “the crowd is going to be the decisive factor”.

“I want everyone to come out to the game, even if you have a faint interest,” Italiano said.

“I’d love to have 34 thousand to the game, that’d be unbelievable. Anything above 25 thousand is going to give us an advantage, especially when those moments get tough.

“I’d love for our fans to come, sing for the whole 90 and just get us over the line.”

Metlink has boosted train capacity, added extra services, and is running larger buses to help get fans to and from the semi-final.
