Ricoh New Zealand is a proud supporter of the Wellington Phoenix and will cement its partnership further this weekend by joining the Club-s one-off Charity Strip.
Tomorrow-s A-League game against Melbourne Heart is the annual adidas/Wellington Phoenix Charity match with this year-s proceeds going to Surf Life Saving NZ.
The Phoenix will be playing in a fully customised one-of-a-kind adidas strip, which was chosen by fans from nine options designed by some of the team.
Ricoh-s Wellington Branch Manager, Chris Thornton, says he is excited to be making Phoenix history this weekend by being the first partner to make a one-off appearance on the Charity Strip.
“As strong supporters of sport and the arts in the Wellington region, it means a lot to us to further our relationship with the team in this special way.
“We hope people get behind the charity event by bidding for their favourite player-s shirt on TradeMe and giving generously to Surf Life Saving NZ because the work they do is so important,” says Thornton.
Thomas Ben, Commercial Manager for the Phoenix, says: “This match is an important part of the club-s community engagement programme and while Ricoh has been a behind-the-scenes supporter, they are viewed as a long-term community partner and as such the club wanted to recognise their efforts in a unique way.”
Last year the Phoenix raised almost $20,000 for the Life Flight Trust and this year they want to raise even more.
The match kicks off at 5pm on 16 February at Westpac Stadium.
