New Zealand cloud provider Revera has inked a new three-year deal to sponsor the Wellington Phoenix A-League Football Club, extending a partnership that first kicked off in 2010.
The deal puts Revera and its flagship public cloud brand Apollo on the front and back respectively of the Wellington Phoenix playing strip shorts, plus branding on the stadium Superscreen when the Phoenix scores a goal.
Ties between the two organisations run deep. The club has moved a significant chunk of its IT operations and productivity tools to Revera’s Homeland cloud, and in 2013 former Phoenix and All Whites goalkeeper Mark Paston joined Revera to forge a post-football career in cloud services provision.
Revera CEO and avid Phoenix supporter Robin Cockyane said he jumped at the opportunity to extend his company’s support of the Phoenix.
“We’re mad about football and the Phoenix, and we’re firm believers in Ernie Merrick’s vision for how the game should be played” he said.
Phoenix general manager David Dome welcomed the long-term commitment of Revera. “They know what makes us tick and over the years have helped the Phoenix build a strong club both on and off the field.”
