Wellington Phoenix head coach Ricki Herbert confirmed tonight that the club had secured the services of Adelaide United midfielder Lucas Pantelis for the coming season.
Pantelis, 29, has signed a two-year contract and will arrive in Wellington next month, Herbert said he was delighted to sign a player who has made 101 A-League appearances for Adelaide United.
“Lucas is a balanced, quick, left-sided player who has played a major role at a successful club,” Herbert said.
“We have been talking to him for a while and it is great to get the deal over the line.”
It is the Wellington club-s second signing this month with former Perth Glory and North Queensland Fury fullback Jimmy Downey joining from Sparta Rotterdam two weeks ago.
