A Fraser Park double header for the Wellington Phoenix reserves sets up a big weekend in round 6 of the National League.
Both men’s and women’s sides play at home on Sunday, 3 October, with the first game being the women’s kickoff against Central Football at 1pm.
Although it has been a tough season so far for the Phoenix, as they are still looking for their first points of the campaign, the return of six players from the U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup will bring reinforcements.
They will also hope to capitalise on a difficult run for Central, who last week lost 10-0 to Eastern Suburbs and 8-1 to Southern United in a previously postponed game.
Immediately afterwards, the men’s reserves will take on Western Suburbs at 4pm.
Following a battling defeat last weekend, the Nix will aim for their second win of the league campaign against a Western Suburbs side who have struggled and currently sit bottom of the ten-team league.
It is also a big weekend in the youth National League, as the national finals stage begins for the U-17 boy’s side.
They will face Auckland City at 1.45pm at NZCIS on Friday, November 1.
The U-17 girl’s side also continue their own title push as they face Central Football at 10.30am at Fraser Park on Sunday, 3 November.
