The Hyundai A-League 2015 Finals Series, presented by Foxtel, is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the 10 year history of the competition with the prospect of a Melbourne Derby and a number of significant rivalry matches (Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United and Sydney FC v Brisbane Roar) within the many combinations and permutations that exist.
The thrilling final round of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season culminated in Melbourne Victory being awarded the Premiers Plate for the third time in the competitions history after they staved off a late challenge from Sydney FC who defeated Wellington Phoenix in the penultimate match of the season. On Saturday night Adelaide United confirmed third place in the league with an emphatic 4-1 victory over fellow finalists Melbourne City FC who finished in fifth spot. Brisbane Roar FC started the final round off with a 2-1 win over the Newcastle Jets to claim sixth place only a point adrift of Melbourne City FC.
