Ten Wellington Phoenix players have been named in the New Zealand U-20 women’s squad for this week’s two matches against Australia in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
First team squad members Zoe McMeeken, Manaia Elliott, Daisy Brazendale and Liv Ingham head the Phoenix contingent in the 26-player squad, which also features Ella McMillan, Aimee Danieli, Rebekah Trewhitt, Ella McCann, Marie Green and Charlotte Eagle from the club’s reserves side.
Helena Errington, who joined the Nix as an injury replacement for the second half of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League, has also been selected.
The first trans-Tasman match will be played at Porirua Park on Thursday afternoon, with kick-off at 2:30pm.
The two sides will also play behind closed doors at NZCIS in Upper Hutt on Sunday.
The matches will serve as build-up for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
