The Phoenix welcome in 2013 with its traditional Kids Free game versus Western Sydney Wanderers on January 13.
Each season the first home game of the New Year is the Phoenix’s annual kids free game and this season the Phoenix welcome the Wanderers on January 13.
The Wanderers are flying high near the top of the Hyundai A-League fuelled by their Japan international Shinji Ono who seems to have found his footing in the Australasian competition.
In Round 9 the Phoenix beat the Wanderers courtesy of a Jeremy Brockie shot that was enabled by a strong northerly. Since then, Brockie has gone on to score one of the best goals seen this season in the A-League against the Roar and currently leads the Golden Boot race in season 2012-13.
Who will prevail – the Japanese midfield maestro in Shinji Ono, or the New Zealand super star striker?
As this match doubles as the first game in the New Year, then it’s also the Phoenix’s Kids Free game. This is a perfect opportunity to get the kids out of house in the school holidays and enjoy some exciting football action with the Phoenix.
Kids still need tickets which can be obtained though Ticketek. There is a maximum of three free kids per paying adult.
There will be plenty of free kids entertainment to keep the kids happy as well.
Plus one lucky kid will win a Sony TV just by being at the game. Keep an eye out for Nixie as you come in the gates to see how you can win!
If you are a season ticket or Club Member then bus transport on Go Wellington and Valley Flyer buses is free between 12 and 10pm on Sunday. Just show your card as you get on.
Car parking at Westpac on game day is at the special rate of $15 (cash only).
