Aiming for 4000 in 2014

The Wellington Phoenix are aiming high both on and off the field as they look toward the 2013-14 Hyundai A-League season.

With incoming coach Ernie Merrick preaching his attacking style of play, and new players joining the club there are positive vibes in the dressing room.

Off the field the Phoenix have mounted a membership drive aimed at signing up a record 4000 members before the season kicks off. The progress will be monitored intensely on prod.wellingtonphoenix.aleagues.com.au and yellowfever.co.nz

Season ticket renewals opened on Monday with sales hitting almost 300, a first day high for the club.

Merrick confirmed his first signing on Tuesday with the acquisition of former Perth Glory goalkeeper Lewis Italiano and there will be more to come in the next few weeks.

The arrival of former A-League player-of-the-year Carlos Hernandez is eagerly awaited by fans and team-mates alike so there is plenty to look forward to.
