Another excellent set of results for the Wellington Phoenix academy.
In the Dettol Central League, the men’s reserves fell to their first defeat of the season, losing 3-0 away to Wellington Olympic.
There was more success in the women’s Central League however, with the U18 women’s side travelling to Palmerston North Marist and winning 2-0.
Katie Pugh scored either side of halftime, growing her individual goal tally to six so far this season.
There were also two victories over Olympic, with the U18 men winning 1-0 courtesy of a Samuel Law strike, and the U16 boys triumphing 3-1, Grayson Lunman scoring two and Marley Hunt adding a third.
The women’s reserves also maintained their winning record, beating Onslow/North Wellington 3-1 away.
Sienna Candy equalised after the Nix went behind, before Grace Bartlett and Lily Brazendale secured the points in the second half.
The U16 girls were unable to match that result though, falling 4-1 to Onslow/North Wellington with May Farquhar scoring the Nix’s lone goal.
Finally, the U15 boys won 5-3 at Western Suburbs. Harry Grosso, Thomas Wilkinson, Jack Clegg, Sam Kiore, and an own goal contributed to the scoreline for the Nix.
This weekend, the men’s reserves have Western Suburbs away, as do the girls U16 side.
The women’s reserves travel to Wellington Olympic, with the U18 women playing Victoria University.
There are also three games at Fraser Park, with the U18 men hosting Petone, and the U15 and U14 boys sides both facing Te Kotahitanga at home.
