Comrad signs on as sleeve sponsor for the Phoenix women

Comrad Medical Systems are delighted to come on board as a premium partner of the inaugural Wellington Phoenix women’s side.

As announced yesterday, Comrad and New Zealand Campus for Innovation and Sport (NZCIS) have answered the call to support the team in the 2021/22 Liberty A-League season.

Comrad Medical Systems will be the women’s sleeve sponsor, following tonight’s historic first match against the Western Sydney Wanderers in Wollongong.

Comrad was established over three decades ago in Christchurch and today is a fast-growing company known throughout Australia and New Zealand for next-generation information technology solutions in healthcare. Comrad’s market-leading solutions are dedicated to streamlining healthcare practices through applying innovative technology-based systems.

“We are delighted to be coming on board as part of the Wellington Phoenix family,” Comrad CEO Mark Sabotti said.

“At Comrad we are proud to support and elevate women in science and medicine and are now equally as proud to support women in sport and professional women’s football.”

Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome says it is only through the tremendous support of companies like Comrad and its principals Catherine Savage and Glenn Stewart that the women’s team can start its maiden season with financial support behind them.

“We approached a number of large, mainstream corporate companies who expressed an interest to support professional women’s football, but, when push came to shove, they all rejected the team,” Dome said.

“We put out a plea at the beginning of this week and Catherine and Glenn got in touch immediately and said they wanted to be part of the solution.

“Catherine, Glenn and Comrad are strongly aligned to our club values: diversity and equity, whanaungatanga (kinship) and tūrangawaewae (owning our place to stand in the world).

“We are extremely grateful for Comrad’s support for the country’s first professional women’s football team.”

The Liberty A-League Women season opener will kick-off at 7:05pm NZT, with the build-up live from 6:30pm on Prime and Sky Sport 2.
