Tiana Jaber joined the Wellington Phoenix in December 2023 as an injury replacement and has gone on to become an integral member of the women’s backline.

The centre-back made her A-League debut for Western Sydney Wanderers in the 2019-20 A-League.

She spent the next two seasons at Newcastle Jets before joining the Western United side that went all the way to the grand final in the 22-23 season.

Jaber also won Newcastle’s goal of the season for the 21-22 campaign with a stunning strike from distance.

She featured in the Phoenix’s last 11 matches of the 23-24 season and signed a new deal with the club in the off-season.

Jaber also made her international debut for Lebanon, who she qualifies for through her father.

Tiana Jaber was an ever-present member of the Wellington Phoenix side, starting all but one of the team’s 23 matches when she was suspended.

Jaber showcased her versatility, playing both as a centre back and fullback.

She also established herself as a key part of the Lebanon women’s team and started all of their matches in the AFC Asian Cup qualification tournament.

Jaber signed a two-year contract extension in July.

“I definitely have unfinished business with the club. I love the club, the country and the fans and I really want to win the league with the Phoenix.

“With all of the new signings that are happening it was absolutely a no brainer to stay in Wellington.

“I see myself growing and becoming a better footballer and person with the Phoenix.”
