Fin Roa Conchie

Fin Roa Conchie graduated from the Wellington Phoenix academy in August 2023 when he signed a three-year pro contract with the club.

The central midfielder joined the Phoenix academy in 2019 from Melville United AFC in Waikato, where he attended St Peter’s School Cambridge.

Roa Conchie made his debut for the club’s reserves in the 2021 Central League and cemented himself as a regular in 2022, when he started 17 of their 18 league matches.

He went on to start five of New Zealand’s six matches at the 2022 OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Tahiti to help the Junior All Whites secure a place at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

At the World Cup, Roa Conchie played every minute of New Zealand’s four matches and provided the assists for all three of the Junior All Whites goals, two of which were against Asian champions Uzbekistan.

He also featured in both of New Zealand U22’s games against China U-24s in March 2023, starting the second game in Wellington.

Roa Conchie made his A-League debut in the opening game of the 23-24 season against Western Sydney Wanderers and ended the year with 11 appearances, two of which were starts.

His breakout season led to a maiden All Whites callup for the OFC Nations Cup in Vanuatu, where he made his first international appearance off the bench against the Solomon Islands.

Roa Conchie was also named in the New Zealand squad for the Paris Olympics and he made one appearance against hosts France.

> 2024-25 season

Fin Roa Conchie had an injury-disrupted second professional season.

Roa Conchie started the team’s first three matches of the campaign, but didn’t feature again until round 15 when he came off the bench to help the Phoenix to a 2-1 win at Macarthur FC.

He made a further five appearances over the back half of the season, one of which was a start.
