#5 FIN ROA CONCHIE BIO – DOB 10/8/03

Fin Conchie is one of the first-year pros in the Phoenix men’s squad, having graduated from the club’s academy in August on a three-year deal.

The central midfielder joined the Phoenix academy in 2019 from Melville United AFC in Waikato, where he attended St Peter’s School Cambridge.

Conchie made us way through the ranks at the academy and made his debut for the reserves in the 2021 Central League. He went on to make 11 appearances in the league, starting four matches.

He featured in all five of the Phoenix reserves matches in the 2021 South Central Series and cemented himself as a regular in 2022, when he started 17 of the reserves’ 18 matches in the Central League.

Conchie went on to start five of New Zealand’s six matches at the 2022 OFC U-19 Men’s Championship in Tahiti to help the Junior All Whites secure a place at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

> 2022-23 season

An injury limited Fin Conchie’s involvement in the 2022 National League, but he was fully fit for the start of the 2023 season.

Conchie featured in both of the New Zealand U-22 team’s matches against China U-24s in March, starting the second game in Wellington, and started seven of the reserves’ first eight matches in the Central League before heading to Argentina for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

He played every minute of New Zealand’s four World Cup matches and provided the assists for all three of the Junior All Whites goals, two of which were against Asian champions Uzbekistan.

Conchie joined the first team for the start of pre-season training in July and secured a three-year contract soon after.

“To sign my first pro contract with the Phoenix is a very proud moment,” he said.

“I moved away from home when I was 15 to join the Phoenix academy so the club is really close to my heart.

“Because I’m a Kiwi through and through, and I have no other passport, I always saw the Phoenix as the place where I’d begin my career and progress into professional football.

“I’ve really enjoyed playing for the club over the last four and a half years and this is the next step in my career, which is just starting.”
