Daisy Brazendale was one of the Wellington Phoenix’s four scholarship players for the 2023-24 A-League.

Brazendale signed a three-year contract with the Phoenix, the first two of which were on scholarship terms.

She grew up in Golden Bay and played in the small South Island town before joining FC Nelson.

Brazendale’s family moved to Wellington in 2022 so she could join the Phoenix academy. She has played for the academy’s reserves team under Paul Temple and more recently Katie Barrott.

Daisy Brazendale was the youngest member of the Wellington Phoenix women’s squad in the 23-24 season.

Brazendale went on to make four starts, with another two appearances off the bench.

Her professional debut came as a substitute against Canberra United in January.

In August, she was upgraded from a scholarship contract to a full senior deal.

Brazendale was also a key part of the Junior Football Ferns squad at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, playing in all three group stage games in Colombia.
