Daisy Brazendale was one of the Wellington Phoenix’s four scholarship players for the 2023-24 A-League.
In August 2023 Brazendale signed a three-year contract with the Phoenix, the first two of which were on scholarship terms.
She grew up in Golden Bay and played in the small South Island town before joining FC Nelson.
Brazendale’s family moved to Wellington in 2022 so she could join the Phoenix academy. She played for the academy’s reserves team in 2023 and 2024.
She was the youngest member of the Wellington Phoenix women’s squad in the 23-24 season but still made six A-League appearances of which four were starts.
Brazendale’s professional debut came as a substitute against Canberra United in January.
In August, she was upgraded from a scholarship contract to a full senior deal.
Brazendale was also a key part of the Junior Football Ferns squad at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, playing in all three group stage games in Colombia.
