This weekend will see the 10 millionth fan through the gates of an A-League fixture – and it might happen in Wellington

The Hyundai A-League will soon welcome its 10 millionth fan through the turnstiles since inception in 2005.

So far, a cumulative 9,940,912 fans have witnessed 856 regular season and finals matches at the healthy average of 11,613 per match.

To commemorate the historic occasion, the 10 millionth fan through the turnstiles will win the Ultimate Grand Final experience including flights, accommodation and two VIP tickets to attend the Hyundai A-League 2013 Grand Final.

The aggregate tally stands only 59,088 short of the 10 million total, with projections that the mark could very well be reached at the Phoenix v Wanderers game on Sunday afternoon at Westpac Stadium.
