Wellington Phoenix Confirms Updated Season Draw for Men’s Teams

Following the release of an updated draw by APL, The Wellington Phoenix can now confirm the full 2021/22 Isuzu Utes A-League season schedule for the Men’s team.

There are several changes to the previously announced Men’s draw for the Club’s first six matches in New South Wales (NSW), with confirmation of a further five matches to be played in Australia up to 23 January 2021 – including two designated home matches at WIN Stadium.

Following this, the Club is scheduled to return to New Zealand to play four consecutive home matches – part of its nine home matches overall on home soil – with an additional six away matches scheduled in Australia up until 29 April 2021.

Wellington Phoenix General Manager, David Dome says that it has been vital for the Club – and its Kiwi fanbase – to get some clarity now around what the upcoming season will look like in terms of matches played back in New Zealand.

“We’ve been working hard with APL to ensure that we have a fair schedule that works for the Club and its players – and that gives us a starting point for returning to our fans in New Zealand,” says Dome.

“The release of this draw means we can now start rolling out an exciting range of NZ membership packages next week, which is exciting for our fans who have been patiently waiting for this.”

The three changes to the previous Men’s schedule are:

  • R1 Away match against Macarthur Bulls on Sun 21 Nov now starts at 6.15pm AEDT
  • R2 match against Central Coast Mariners on Sat 27 Nov is now a home game at WIN Stadium, with an updated start time of 5.05pm AEDT
