Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome is confident the A-League club will get an extension to its licence beyond 2016.
Football Federation Australia announced on Monday night that the licences of the nine Australian clubs had been extended through to 2034.
But the Phoenix are a different kettle of fish because, as a New Zealand club competing in an Australian competition, they fall in between the Oceania and Asian confederations.
