Wellington Phoenix and Fortune Favours have joined forces with the Wellington-based brewer becoming the club’s official pourage partner.
Formed in 2016 and proudly Wellington based, Fortune Favours has quickly established themselves as a premier New Zealand craft brewer.
The new partnership will see Fortune Favours brews available at all Phoenix home games, both in public areas and the lounges.
Wellington Phoenix General Manager David Dome said the opportunity to work with Fortune Favours was an extremely enticing one.
”We are blessed in Wellington not only with a plethora of fine independent brewers but also a Stadium who wants to help showcase them.
”Fortune Favours is leading the way in craft brewing in Wellington and the ability for fans to enjoy red hot live football action with a fresh, locally brewed beer should go down a real treat!
”As part of the Kapura family, Fortune Favours brings together the club’s hospitality and pourage partners into one family.
”Their boutique operation on Leeds Street in the middle of town is a little jewel and should be checked out – all the people involved have been a joy to deal with and we’re looking forward to working closely with them’’
Fortune Favours’ Shannon Thorpe is excited by the new partnerships and is looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.
”Fortune Favours is ecstatic to come on board as a sponsor for the Phoenix.
”This sponsorship brings together our love of Football, Wellington and Beer!
”The Nix is a great alignment for us at Fortune Favours and we look forward to sharing our Fortunes this year.”
To celebrate the new partnership, Fortune Favours is brewing a special, as yet unnamed, Phoenix beer. They are asking fans to help come up with a suitable name, with the winning entry winning a bag of Phoenix and Fortune Favours goodies.
To put forward your suggestion just go to the club’s or Fortune Favours Facebook or Instagram pages, use the hashtag #NixBrew and tell us what you think the name of the new Fortune Favour-brewed Phoenix beer should be called.
Ts&Cs: You must be over 18 to enter, not open to employees or their family of Wellington Phoenix or Fortune Favours. Closes on 18th October 2019.
Shannon Thorpe took the leap in 2016. Tired of working for other brewers, Shannon decided it was time to test his nous and open his own brewery. He teamed up with Wellington hospitality veterans Andrew Williams and Jamie Williams, convinced award-winning brewer Dale Cooper to quit his day job, and together they formed Fortune Favours.
Fortune Favours saved an old industrial building and restored it as a new brewpub, brewing on site and serving fresh beer and food. The old furniture restoration business was becoming surrounded by bold new bars and food venues in the revived Leeds Street precinct, and Fortune Favours was happy to add its brewery to this mix.
We love beer and we want to share that love with you. Fortune Favours beers are fresh, fun and innovative. Take the leap and try something different.
Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Lucky.
