The Wellington Phoenix Academy are excited to be partnering with Onslow Junior Football Club, with an agreement in place to bring their Pre-Academy Centre to the club for Terms 2 and 3.
This follows a successful term for the Wellington Phoenix Academy in running its Pre-Academy Centres across the city.
Onslow JFC President, Matt Donn, sees the Pre-Academy Centre as a solid complement to their current programmes in place.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Onslow Junior Football Club to partner with the Phoenix Academy and build on top of the excellent programmes we already have in place,” said Donn.
“This programme is for all children in the club, and will also allow Onslow to further access resources that it wouldn’t normally have at its disposal.”
Wellington Phoenix Academy Director, Paul Temple, says that the Pre-Academy Centres are a great way for the Phoenix to help add value in the 9-12 age bracket, where skill development is essential.
“These sessions are all about the individual rather than team-based training,” said Temple.
“The PAC with Onslow is a great example of a model of us partnering with a local club in the area, we’ve been working together on what this looks like so that it’s beneficial to Onslow as we want to be positively contributing to football in the region.”
The Onslow Pre-Academy Centre will run from Tuesday 11 May to Monday 24 August from 4.30-5.30pm – excluding school holidays – at Nairnville Park in Khandallah.
