Vote for Sail as Wellington’s personality of the year

We need your help to ensure Oli Sail is recognised at this year’s Dominion Post Sport and Recreation Awards.

The charismatic goalkeeper is a finalist for the personality of the year award, which is decided by public vote.

The personality award highlights individuals that have brought colour, passion or flair and contributed positively to the culture of sport, either on or off the field. We believe Oli displayed all those attributes and more for the Wellington Phoenix over the past 12 months.

He established himself as the club’s no. 1 in 2021 and one of the premier ‘keepers in the A-League in 2022. His performances in goal and leadership of the team helped the Phoenix qualify for this year’s finals against all odds.

You can vote for Oli here. Voting closes at 11:59pm on June 10, with the winner to be announced at the awards evening on Tuesday July 5.

The Wellington Phoenix are in the running in three other categories.

Ufuk Talay is a finalist for the coach of the year award, general manager David Dome has been nominated for the Trish McKelvey leadership award and the club’s Football for All programme is a contender for the best community initiative.
