With our home stadium hosting the yearly event it provided fans with a different look behind the scenes as they enjoyed a stadium tour including player’s changing rooms as well as taking a peek into the press conference room.

It was a beautiful day in Wellington and it was made even sweeter as Wellington Phoenix defeated local Premiership side Team Wellington 2-0 to cap off an unbeaten pre-season heading into the first game of the season on Sunday 13 October at Westpac Stadium.

Mexico international Ulises Dávila scored a low pile driver from outside the box in the first half, with young New Zealand forward Callum McCowatt twisting and turning to convert in the second half.

Alongside the footballing action and fun activations, children and families enjoyed the very first ExtremePC E-Sports Arena.

Hundreds of children and adults enjoyed the brand-new FIFA gaming experience at Westpac Stadium, which will be at Wellington Phoenix home games this season, providing an exciting new free activation for game days before the match starts. As part of the activation, over $2000 worth of gaming prizes were given away during the day.

The day was capped off with a signing session, where many players gave away their pre-season playing shirts to lucky fans.

Wellington Phoenix General Manager, David Dome was extremely happy with the day and believes it is a fantastic way to interact with the families of Wellington.

‘‘It’s such a successful event every year and the thought behind bringing it to Westpac was to provide that real football experience to the families and children.’’

‘‘We love to grow our Phoenix family every year and to bring 2000 people through the gates just shows how much the fans enjoy seeing behind the scenes in the club and bonding with players and staff.’’

The season kicks off on Sunday 13 October at 6pm at Westpac Stadium, tickets available through Ticketek here.
