The 20-year-old Scott sustained a high-grade lateral collateral ligament injury during practice, with the expected time frame for recovery between 8-10 weeks.

This is Scott’s first season with the club after playing for Perth Glory last season, as well as seeing action with the Australian National Under-20 squad.

Wellington Phoenix Head Coach Ufuk Talay says that while it’s never good to see a young player sustain an injury of any kind, the club will work diligently alongside him in his recovery.

“We wish Walter all the best with his ongoing recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the field later this season.”
