The Wellington Phoenix have been recognised at this year’s 2degrees Wellington Regional Business Excellence Awards.
The Phoenix won the category for excellence in hospitality, tourism and retail sponsored by PKF Kendons.
The winners were announced at the official awards gala event at the Lower Hutts Event Centre last Friday night.
Phoenix general manager David Dome received the award on the club’s behalf via video.
“Many thanks for this award and apologies we can’t be there in person,” Dome said.
“This is a big honour for us. We take our role as being citizens of Wellington and contributing to the local economy very seriously, so this is a magnificent recognition of that.
“Our thanks to everyone at 2degrees and PKF Kendons.
“And congratulations to all of the nominees and all the other winners.”
It comes three months after the Phoenix were amongst the big winners at The Post Gold Awards, winning the Vibrant Gold category which celebrates businesses across the Wellington region in events, hospitality and tourism.
