The Wellington Phoenix have partnered with Double Undies to help empower the women’s team and allow them to play as free as possible.
The proudly Kiwi company has produced the world’s first absorbent performance thong specifically designed for women who refuse to let their bodies hold them back.
Founder and creator Jane Bogust launched Double Undies earlier this year to normalise conversations around pelvic health, eliminate shame and give women the confidence to perform at their best, worry-free.
Phoenix women’s head physiotherapist Beanie Joyes is really excited about the partnership with Double Undies and the passion that Bogust has for supporting female athletes.
“Pelvic floor concerns and urinary leakage are hugely prevalent yet underdiscussed topics amongst female athletes in high performance sport,” Joyes said.
“It is not uncommon when players are involved in rapid acceleration or deceleration moments to have leakage and the impact this can have on performance is significant.
“It is an ongoing focus area for us from a strengthening perspective, but being able to provide a product that can give our players peace of mind during training and game days is incredible.
“Double Undies allows them to be as fast and explosive as possible without worrying about leakage and it is a huge step towards improving performance and reducing stigmatism.”
