Sam Sutton is on his way to Los Angeles to join the All Whites for their international friendlies against Mexico and the U.S.A.
The Wellington Phoenix fullback has been added into the national squad as a replacement for Dalton Wilkins, who suffered an injury at training this week.
Sutton made his senior international bow at the OFC Men’s Nations Cup in June and started three of New Zealand’s four matches in Vanuatu, including the final.
He also started all three of New Zealand’s matches at this year’s Paris Olympics.
Sam Sutton joins club captain Alex Rufer, forward Kosta Barbarouses and fellow defender Tim Payne in the All Whites touring party.
New Zealand will play Mexico at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 8 (NZT) before heading to Cincinnati to meet the U.S.A. on Wednesday, September 11 (NZT).
Both matches will be streamed on FIFA+.
