New Balance recommits as footwear partner

The Wellington Phoenix are thrilled to announce the club has extended its partnership with New Balance.

The global brand has been the Phoenix’s footwear partner for the past three A-League seasons, providing market-leading boots and fashionable shoes for players, coaches and club staff.

“I’ve worn New Balance for a few years now and their boots are great,” Phoenix defender Sam Sutton said.

“They’re really comfortable and really light, which is important for my position at fullback having to get up and down the pitch.

“It’s exciting to see what’s ahead with New Balance and I’m happy that the Phoenix have extended their partnership.”

Team-mate Ben Old realised from a young age that New Balance boots were for him and believes the company’s rapport with players set them apart from other brands.

“They’re always so helpful,” Old said. “I can always just message them and they help out whenever they can.

“They’re very good to us, which I think some of the other brands aren’t quite like that. They have a lot of care for their players.”

New Balance New Zealand marketing manager Sophie-Anne Héroux is delighted they have been able to renew their partnership with the Wellington Phoenix.

“At New Balance, our job is to aid athletes in their pursuit of excellence, whether that means helping professional athletes win medals, or propelling everyday athletes to live a healthy and active lifestyle,” Héroux said.

“We are proud to continue bringing products to the Phoenix players, office staff and management team, and support to the football community through the Football for All programme.

Over the past three years New Balance New Zealand has donated hundreds of boots to the award-winning Football For All programme to allow rangitahi and tamiriki from disadvantaged communities to play football or futsal in the Wellington region.

You too can contribute to the Football For All programme by buying a matchday or season ticket for a less fortunate young Phoenix fan here.
