Two away games face the Wellington Phoenix in this weekend’s National League action as they look to move up the table.
The women’s reserves have another Friday 7pm game, as they travel to Newtown Park to face Wellington United.
It shapes as a tough match to get back on track after last week’s heavy defeat to Waterside Karori, as Wellington United are unbeaten so far.
They backed up an impressive opening win over Western Springs with a 1-1 draw with Canterbury United, and currently sit fifth on the ten-team table.
The Phoenix will remain without a number of key players who are either with the first team squad or in the Dominican Republic for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
In the men’s National League, the Phoenix reserves will aim to build some momentum after a 4-0 victory against Cashmere Technical.
This weekend, they will travel to Hawkes Bay to take on second-placed Napier City Rovers, who are two spots ahead of the Phoenix.
The match will kick off at 2pm on Sunday, October 13 at Bluewater.
Napier City Rovers are the top scorers so far in the National League, having netted six through two rounds.
The youth National League also continues this weekend, with the Wellington Phoenix U-17 boys’ side playing Onslow/North Wellington at Wakefield Park at 12pm on Saturday, October 12.
The U-17 girls’ team has a bye this round.
Both currently sit top of their leagues after three games each.
