Boxall played his early football for Central United, Three Kings United and Ellerslie, before three years at the University of California and a year at the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS.
He joined the Phoenix ahead of the 2012/13 season.
He made his All Whites debut in 2011 and has played nine internationals for New Zealand, including a stand-out performance against South Africa earlier this year.Â
