Wellington Phoenix were defeated by Brisbane Strikers as the FFA Cup Round of 32 match went to penalties over in Queensland on Wednesday 7 August 2019. Despite coming back from 2-0 down, Ufuk Talay’s side were eventually beaten 4-2 via spot kicks.
