Planning for the Dunedin leg of the Football United Tour hots up this week with representatives from Newcastle United in town, along with ticket sales kicking off on Wednesday.
Venue tour ahead of international football clash at Forsyth Barr Stadium
Forsyth Barr Stadium will host representatives from Newcastle United and Wellington Phoenix for a tour of the stadium today, Tuesday 20 May, ahead of the clash under the roof on July 22 between Newcastle United and Sydney FC. The match is one of four exhibition matches as part of the Football United Tour involving Newcastle United, Sydney FC, West Ham United and Wellington Phoenix.

Tickets to this international fixture will be available to the public from 9am on Wednesday 21 May and a crowd of 15,000 is eagerly anticipated.
Interest from fans all around New Zealand and Australia has been high and there will be dedicated Supporters- Zones for Newcastle United and Sydney FC fans alike.
Football South has been encouraging local clubs to be a part of the action with their own Club Zone in the TicketDirect Stand with teams dressing up in their club colours for the occasion and the added bonus of having a prize for the best dressed club. There will be two curtain raisers played simultaneously involving 12th Grade teams from local clubs who will then be part of the honour guard as these high profile teams run on to the pitch.

Increased flight capacity for fans
To meet fan demand, Air New Zealand have added over 300 seats to Dunedin with an additional Boeing 737 from Wellington and an A320 service from Christchurch to ensure fans arrive in plenty of time for kick off. Additional capacity is also available from Auckland.
