Imane Chebel’s contract with the Wellington Phoenix has been terminated by mutual consent.
The Algeria international joined the Phoenix a fortnight ago on a contract for the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the club and Chebel have decided to part ways, and she has returned home to her native Canada.
The Wellington Phoenix won’t be going into the details surrounding her departure out of respect for Chebel’s privacy.
The club wishes Imane Chebel all the best for the future.
The Phoenix have been looking for a replacement centre back and plan to fill the final visa spot before the registration window closes next Monday.
