Following the release of an updated draw by APL, The Wellington Phoenix can now confirm the full 2021/22 Isuzu Utes A-League season schedule for the Men’s team. There are several changes to the previously announced Men’s draw for the Club’s first six matches in New South Wales (NSW), with confirmation of a further five matches to be played in Australia up to 23 January 2021 – including two designated home matches at WIN Stadium.
The Wellington Phoenix can now confirm its upcoming travel schedule for its Men’s and Women’s A-League squads, in preparation for the start of the 2021/22 A-League season in Australia. Players, coaching and backroom staff from both squads are now assembled in Wellington, and will travel together to New South Wales (NSW) via charter plane – which will also be transporting the NZ Breakers basketball squad - on Monday 1st November.

Wellington Phoenix are pleased to announce the addition of three Australian-based players for the upcoming A-League Women’s 2021/22 Season. Te Reremoana Walker, Isabel Gomez and Cushla Rue have all agreed to one-year terms with the Club, and will join up with the Phoenix squad once the team arrives in NSW early next month. Walker, a 17-year-old Kiwi midfielder, has been based in New South Wales since 2017, racking up over 100 matches played and 10 goals scored over five seasons in the NSW NPL Women’s competition.

The Wellington Phoenix are excited to announce a series of structural changes to the Phoenix Academy, with a focus on further improving its already NZ-leading level of service to young Kiwi footballers. The first change sees current Wellington Phoenix Assistant Coach, Chris Greenacre, shift into the Academy Head Coaching role in a move designed to strengthen the Academy’s pathways into the first team.
The Wellington Phoenix wishes to provide an update on the following player injuries: Gary Hooper continues to rehabilitate from a calf injury he incurred earlier in the pre-season. Hooper has responded well to physio and is on target to return to training in three weeks time. Louis Fenton is recovering from a knee injury which he sustained late last week. This injury is expected to keep Fenton out of action for the next six weeks.
