The Wellington Phoenix have finalised a venue little over 48 hours out from Saturday’s Isuzu UTE A-League match against Melbourne City.
The Phoenix will ‘host’ the reigning A-League champions at PointsBet Stadium, home of the Cronulla Sharks.
The Sharks have come to the club’s aid, with suitable venues in New South Wales at a premium now the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby seasons are underway.
Due to a lack of available security personnel because of the late confirmation of the venue the match will be closed to fans, other than family and friends.
The match will kick-off at 4:35pm AEDT (6:35pm NZT).
It is the men’s sixth different ‘home’ venue this season and the first time an A-League match has been played at the rugby league ground.
