A busy couple of weeks ahead for the Wellington Phoenix in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
The A-Leagues have announced the Phoenix men will play five times in 14 days in a bid to try and catch-up on games postponed in December and January as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak in Australia.
They will start the ‘February Football Frenzy’ by playing Macarthur FC at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney on Sunday, February 6.
Ufuk Talay’s side will then play the first of two mid-week matches on Wednesday, February 9 against Melbourne Victory at WIN Stadium at Wollongong before hosting Brisbane Roar at a yet to be determined venue the following Wednesday.
Their weekend fixtures against Adelaide United and Sydney FC will remain on their original dates, but venues and kick-off times have been finalised for the ‘home’ matches.
The Saturday kick-offs against Adelaide and Sydney FC on February 12 and February 19 will now be played at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium and Leichhardt Oval respectively.
The men will round out the month against Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, February 27 at CommBank Stadium in Sydney.
The A-Leagues have also advised the Phoenix women’s round 12 Liberty A-League match against Adelaide United has been brought forward from Saturday, February 19 to Thursday, February 17.
It will be played at the women’s home away from home, WIN Stadium in Wollongong.
They will start the month against Melbourne Victory at WIN tomorrow night and their round 11 and 13 fixtures against Canberra United and Western Sydney remain as originally scheduled.
In total 60 A-League matches are scheduled to be played in February, with football on six days a week on Sky Sport, Paramount +, Network 10 and 10BOLD.
