Wellington Phoenix travel to Australia this weekend to continue preparations for the start of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season.
Head Coach Mark Rudan’s team will face Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi Stadium on Saturday in an open door match kicking off at 3.00 pm.
“This camp comes at a good time where we have another opportunity to be together and work on areas we need to improve against A-League opposition.
“It gives a chance to continue to build on the culture and values we are developing at the club.
“There are no guarantees for places and this trip will provide certain answers as we draw nearer to the start of the competition.” Rudan said.
Mid-week Wellington will play recent National Premier Leagues NSW Premiership and Championship winners, Sydney Olympic FC.
The mini tour will then close with a behind closed doors match against Sydney FC.
At the request of both sides, the fixtures against Sydney Olympic FC and Sydney FC will be behind-closed door friendlies.
Wellington Phoenix’ Hyundai A-League season kicks off at Westpac Stadium on Sunday October 21 against Newcastle Jets.
