The Wellington Phoenix are looking to keep the good times rolling.
The Nix sit top of the table after two games, as the only side to win both opening fixtures.
However, head coach Chris Greenacre isn’t paying any attention to the table as they look to go three from three this weekend against the Newcastle Jets.
“I’ll be really honest, I’ve not spent a lot of time looking,” he told media pre-match. “
I don’t even know who’s in second place, that’s how focused I am on what we’re doing.
“Six weeks ago if you’d asked me if I wanted to be unbeaten through the first two games, I would have snapped your hand off obviously.
“But we’re just focusing day in, day out on what we can control on the training ground.”
The Jets won last season’s Premier’s Plate, and have secured two draws so far this season despite substantial squad turnover.

“We’ve got a really tough game this weekend against the Premiers.
“Newcastle are a very good team, a team that cause a lot of problems.
“On the outside, last season they were one of the most exciting teams to watch, goals galore.
“They’ve got a lot of players with a lot of quality, and it’ll be tough for us.”
It’s also the first away trip for the Nix this season, having taken full advantage of their home games so far.
However, Greenacre doesn’t see anything changing in his approach.
“For us, the main point is for us to focus on us. We have to worry about how we train, how we develop each day.”
“If we do that, we’ll continue on the right trajectory.
“So far it’s going ok, so we’ll just keep up with that and keep trying to improve across the board.”
