The Wellington Phoenix have farewelled a further three members of the men’s 2025-26 squad.
Attacking midfielders Ramy Najjarine, Sander Kartum and Sarpreet Singh came off contract with the Phoenix at the start of the month and won’t be returning to Wellington next season.
The club thanks them for their contributions to the Nix and wishes them all the best for the next steps in their footballing journeys.
Najjarine had his best season as a professional at the Phoenix. He featured in all but two of the men’s A-League matches during the 2025-26 campaign, scoring two goals and registering three assists.
He has secured a move to Qanah FC in the Egyptian Premier League.
“I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to wear the Phoenix badge and to have been part of such a special group,” Najjarine said.
“Thank you to the coaching staff, my teammates, the club, and all the supporters for your belief and unwavering support throughout my time at the Nix.
“Wishing the club nothing but success in the future. This club will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Kartum made 12 appearances for the Phoenix after joining the club on loan from Heart of Midlothian FC in January.
He scored on debut against Newcastle Jets and the match-winner in the drought-breaking 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory in April, but has now returned to Hearts.

Singh also joined the Nix on loan, but was limited to just two appearances after suffering a knee injury in his long-awaited return in February.
The club tabled an offer to the All Whites midfielder but he’s instead signed with SC Farense in Portugal’s second tier after starting all three of New Zealand’s matches at the FIFA World Cup in North America.
“I was so stoked to return home, but unfortunately it didn’t play out the way I wanted it to for the club and for myself,” Singh said. “But that’s life and that’s football.
“I’m happy to be injury-free now and back playing and I wish the club all the best for the upcoming season.
“I’ll be watching closely for sure.”
The Wellington Phoenix have 16 men’s players contracted for the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season and further squad announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
