After the home and away semi-final playoffs, the ASB Premiership Grand Final brings together competition minor premiers Auckland City FC and second-placed Team Wellington at Auckland City FC-s home venue at Kiwitea Street in Sandringham, Auckland.
In what is Auckland City-s sixth Grand Final appearance, Ramon Tribulietx-s side will be chasing a fifth victory while Team Wellington – coached by Matt Calcott – are involved in the season-s last match for the third time, with two previous appearances producing defeats by Waitakere United.
Auckland City won both regular season matches between the two sides with a 4-1 victory in Wellington in the first round in November coupled with a 3-2 win at Kiwitea Street in January.
In addition to claiming the league crown, the winner of Sunday-s match is guaranteed a spot in the next Oceania Champions League competition.
New Zealand Football CEO Andy Martin is delighted at securing coverage for football fans throughout New Zealand.
“We-re thrilled to have secured the live broadcast of the showpiece match of our domestic competition,” Martin said.
“Fans up and down the country will now be able to enjoy what promises to be an excellent match given what is at stake for both sides.”
The game will be shown LIVE on SKY Sport 4 from 2.30pm on Sunday 16 March.
