The Phoenix hope to lock in a pre-season visit from an English Premier League club within “two or three weeks,” with West Ham United one of several options.
Phoenix general manager David Dome would not reveal the other clubs in the running, but ruled out glamour teams and “Johnny-come-latelies.”
A tournament involving West Ham, Everton and Brisbane Roar had been discussed but “the chances of that are quite small,” Dome said.
