The Ufuk Talay era begins with an away trip to NPL Queensland side, Brisbane Strikers.
The FFA Cup Round of 32 tie, which will kick off on Wednesday 7 August at 7.30pm (AEST), 9.30pm (NZST) will be streamed live on www.foxsports.com.au.
Details of a NZ broadcast will be communicated once confirmed.
The fixture will take place at the home of Brisbane Strikers, Perry Park in Queensland.
The Brisbane based side last appeared in the Round of 32 in 2016, totalling four appearances at this stage since the competition’s inception in 2014.
Wellington Phoenix fell to well-oiled Bentleigh Greens last season in a Round of 32 1-0 loss, so new Head Coach Talay will be looking for his team to impress in the Cup competition before the Hyundai A-League season begins in October.
