Wellington Phoenix Adds More Seats At Eden Park

Wellington Phoenix has had to open up Eden Park’s South Stand to accommodate fan demand for tickets to their Friday match against Melbourne Victory.

Phoenix General Manager, David Dome, says the club has been thrilled by the support shown by the Auckland fans.

“With only a few days to go until the showdown with Melbourne Victory, we’ve had to add more seats to the match to accommodate fan demand.

“With the tantalising prospect that fans will be able to get to see a red hot Phoenix team playing some scintillating football, there is now also the real possibility that they will also see of Asia’s best ever players in Japan international Keisuke Honda.

“Plus, we are thrilled to announce that our partner, Hell Pizza, will give away a free gourmet snack pizza to every single fan in the ground should the Phoenix beat the Victory. All you have to do is present your game day ticket at any Hell Pizza outlet in New Zealand.

“Given the strong demand to date, we are stressing to fans to please pre-purchase tickets. We have had major issues in the past with large walk up crowds trying to purchase at the gate and while we want as many fans as possible to experience the unique atmosphere of a Wellington Phoenix home game, we don’t want fans missing any of the action because they are trying to purchase at the gate.

“The message has to be – buy early!

“The support has been phenomenal to date. It’s always hard to gauge and is never an exact science, but given past ticket purchase patterns, Friday night’s match could very well be the club’s largest ever crowd outside a finals match.”
