The Wellington Phoenix have agreed to an exciting new partnership with Spark and OPPO, who have expanded their support for the club.
The two innovative companies are now the front-of-shirt sponsors for both the Phoenix men and women for the 2022-23 A-Leagues, and beyond.
OPPO will be front and centre on the Phoenix’s home shirt this season, while Spark will be to the fore of the away strip.
The new home and away kits for men and women will be unveiled at the club’s season launch in Wellington on Friday night before being released publicly via Phoenix social media channels at 7:30pm.
Spark and OPPO came on board as the men’s principal partners 12 months ago and were invaluable supporters as the team faced the challenge of being based in Australia for a second straight season.
Now they have extended their partnership and committed to New Zealand’s only professional women’s team, with the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ on the horizon.
Spark are pleased to have been able to support the Phoenix men over the difficult past year, and are thrilled now be able to support the women’s team as well.
“With the pandemic coming to an end, we’re looking forward to an exciting year of supporting local sport with this unique partnership and playing a role in bringing quality entertainment to New Zealanders, which is a key focus for our business,” Spark’s value management lead Rajesh Singh said.
OPPO New Zealand managing director Morgan Halim says they are looking forward to growing their partnership with the Phoenix and Spark.
“We’re anticipating a thrilling year ahead, especially now that we’ve also teamed up with the Wellington Phoenix women’s squad,” Halim said.
“There’s a lot of impressive footy to look forward to and we can’t wait to cheer both teams on from the sideline.”
Phoenix general manager David Dome says Spark and OPPO are the club’s biggest supporters.
“They came on board when we needed them most, as the club faced the prospect of basing the men in Australia for a second straight season,” Dome said.
“They’ve not only stuck by us during an incredibly challenging time, but they’ve now doubled down to support the women as well. We’re very fortunate to have such loyal principal partners.
“There’s no better time for two innovative companies like Spark and OPPO to be involved in women’s football and the Phoenix want to play a major role in building momentum in the lead-up to the World Cup.”
