I’ve been hanging out at Western Suburbs home ground at Whitby for events over the last two weekends.
They invited me to their last game of the 2023 season for Under 7 and 8s. There was a huge crowd including 200 players!!
Did you see me cooking sausages? I love to see flames put to good use and managed to keep my feathers out of the way by using the tongs.
I was more than happy to lead the lolly scramble – yum! A well-deserved sweet treat after all of the games.
Over at the goal posts we did some goal shooting challenges and there were some smooth moves by players who I’m sure will become future A-League stars.
Then we gathered in goal for a team photo and shouted 3, 2, 1 PHOENIX!!
This weekend brought more football, sun and sausages for the Wellington Graded Champs for 2023! Teams came from all over Wellington and even out of town, as far as New Plymouth. Well done to everyone who took part.
There were so many players to meet and I brought a few of the Phoenix Players with me too. On Saturday you would have seen me with Bel Old, Sam Sutton and Mo Al-Taay. On Sunday I was joined by Michaela Robertson and Chloe Knott with our new Phoenix signings Hailey Davidson, Hope Breslin and Mariana Speckmaier who were so excited to see everyone giving it heaps out on the field. There were queues for signatures from us all and I had so many signings, it gave my wing tip a great workout.
Did you get to challenge me at keep ups? How many can you do? I might bring this as a challenge to the Stadium when the games kick off, just over a month away.
