Men’s fixtures released for 2024-25 season

The Wellington Phoenix have been handed eleven games in Wellington for the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League men’s season.

Sky Stadium, which saw a sell-out crowd for last season’s home semi-final, will host all of these fixtures.

The men’s team will ring in the new campaign by welcoming Western United to Wellington on Sunday, October 20.

Round 3 then provides a first look at the long-awaited New Zealand derby, with Auckland FC set to make the trip south on Saturday, November 2.

The two reverse fixtures at GO Media Stadium are scheduled for Saturday, December 5 and Saturday, February 22.

With the introduction of Auckland FC to the Isuzu UTE A-League, there are now 13 teams in the competition. This means each club will enjoy two weekend byes and one mid-week bye.

The Phoenix have received these byes for the weekends of Friday, November 29, and Friday, January 31, while their mid-week break will arrive the week of Monday, December 30.

Unite Round also continues for the 24-25 season, with all fixtures in round 5 to be played in Sydney. The Nix are allocated as the home team against Melbourne Victory on Sunday, 24 November, but the game will be played at Allianz Arena.

Six of the games at the ‘Ring of Fire’ will be played on Saturdays, all kicking off at 5pm. There are also two Friday night fixtures, one each on Wednesday and Thursday, and the Sunday afternoon season opener.

The club are only considering taking one game out of Wellington, against the Central Coast Mariners on Saturday, January 25.

A Waitangi Day fixture against the Brisbane Roar stands out from the mid-week slate, to be played on Thursday, February 6.

The Nix will wrap up their regular season action at Sky Stadium against the Perth Glory on Friday, May 2.
