The Wellington Phoenix want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported last month’s Match For Good.
In total $70,281 has been raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC®) New Zealand.
The men wore a bespoke RMHC kit for their round 24 A-League match against Western Sydney Wanderers at Sky Stadium.
Each player’s shirt featured the name of a child and the number of nights their families stayed at a Ronald McDonald House.
They were auctioned off post-match and raised $12,222 for RMHC.
McDonald’s customers donated $28,000 at kiosks and drive-thru during the week of the match and McDonald’s franchisees across Aotearoa have matched the total.
Paladin Sports has also raised $1,640, having donated $10 for each replica RMHC kit sold.

Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome is thrilled the club has been able to help raise more than $70,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand.
“Thank you to everyone who donated to a cause that we are very passionate about,” Dome said. “We’re especially grateful to the support of our premium partner McDonald’s, with their franchisees going above and beyond by matching the donations made at their restaurants.
“We’ve been visiting and supporting Ronald McDonald House in Wellington for years and know how valuable their support is.
“The donations from the Match For Good will help RMHC continue to fund hundreds of stays for families in need across Aotearoa.”

About Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand®
RMHC® New Zealand is a for-purpose, not-for-profit organisation with the core mission to provide families with accommodation and support when their child is in a hospital away from home.
The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programmes take care of the practical things in life so families with a child undergoing medical treatment can focus on spending time together.
Each year we offer over 3,500 families across New Zealand accommodation and support free of charge. This helps to relieve stresses like paying for a place to sleep near the hospital, organising family meals and needing a friendly ear to listen on tough days.
Simply, we give families with a hospitalised child what they need most — each other.
